
During the visit of Prime Minister of Belgium Dehaene, about 20 companies travelled with. Most of them are already active in South Africa, among which The Green Line of Johan Van Herreweghe. Important are the new contacts with the new black topdirectors, says Mr Meerschman, the Belgian consulate-general in Johannesburg.
The goal of the visit is to facilitate the cooperation between Belgian and South-African companies in relation to export transactions and foreign investments. The flemish government has made several cultural agreements with South Africa. Though still not enough, indicates Wouter Van Gulck, Flemish tradecommisionar at the consulate in Johannesburg.
